Mozambique: Dispute for RENAMO Leadership Launched

The current internal dispute and uncertainties about the conduct of the Congress prove to be harmful factors for the party in view of the approaching beginning of the electoral census process (15.MAR), which the party should be prepared to monitor, and the approaching legislative and presidential elections this year. The party's leadership hesitates because of the lack of funds for the holding of the Congress, risking being without resources for the electoral campaign.

The current circumstance of RENAMO ends up overshadowing the internal difficulties in FRELIMO, affected by poor governance, successive cases of corruption and reckless management, recourse to electoral fraud and by internal divisions where rival groups position themselves for the appointment of their respective presidential candidate and likely PR to succeed FILIPE NYUSI.
