Macau: China Gathers Portuguese Speaking Countries in Summer

The Chinese Government intends to bring together, within the Macau Forum (FM), at the end of the first semester (the month of JUN. proposed), the leaders of the Portuguese-speaking countries. FM is an entity subordinated to the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) of the PR China, and financially supported by the Chinese authorities.
Portuguese-speaking countries are considered relevant for their voting power in United Nations bodies, where such humanitarian issues are frequently debated, and the role they play within their regional organizations.
If confirmed, the FM Conference would closely coincide with the Summit of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), in Luanda, whose tentative date is 17.JUL. READ MORE
