Mozambique: Proposed Intervention Force Analyzed Internally and in the African Union

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) technical assessment mission to Cabo Delgado, led by Brig. MUKOKOMANI (Tanzania), delivered the assessment report on the situation in the province and the proposed type of intervention of SADC countries, after several briefings with the Mozambican Security and Defense Forces and a “technical” reconnaissance visit to the province, which lasted for only 1 day (17.APR).
Despite being pressured internationally, FN continues to reveal lack of clarity in the ways in which it will accept external support. According to diplomatic sources, the issue of Cabo Delgado will be the subject of discussion at the Peace and Security Council of the African Union (AU).
