Guinea-Bissau: Port and Airport Dependent on Angolans and Emiratis

The concession contract for Bauxite Angola providing for a minimum of 50 years, its cancellation or alteration of terms is now in question. The process was led by HIGINO CARNEIRO (HC) - currently under judicial investigation in Angola - who holds part of the capital of BA (AM 327), the majority (c. 70%) belonging to an undefined Angolan entity, which is supposed to aggregate interests of ENDIAMA, BAI and others. HC also owns a hotel in Bissau (Palace).
The project for the construction of the new Bissau International Airport, handed over to Concorde Stars Contracting, is also at a standstill due to alleged differences over the financing. READ MORE
