Mozambique: SAMIM Faces Resistance in Cabo Delgado and Lack of Articulation with Rwanda

SAMIM understands that the lack of coordination between the command of troops from Rwanda, Mozambique and SADC resulted in dispersing the insurgents and concentrating them in the area assigned to SAMIM troops.

SAMIM's initial mission, initially of three months, was extended on 05.OCT for an indefinite period, maintaining scenario 6 (highest) of Rapid Deployment Capability, precisely because the presence of insurgents in areas assigned to SADC and especially in the southern bank of the Messalo river is considered very high.

The SADC command proposed more frequent meetings with the commands of Rwanda and Mozambique, to coordinate operations, but Rwanda, which is focused on consolidating the recovered spaces in the two districts assigned to it. READ MORE
