Mozambique: Attacks in Nampula Growing and Approaching Nacala

Sporadic attacks by guerrillas in most districts of Cabo Delgado, but far from the main population centers, have been increasing in recent weeks, along with a worsening of violence in the southern districts, especially Ancuabe and Chiure (AM 1360).

The failure to create containment zones to prevent the retreat of the armed groups prevented the encirclement of a significant part of the groups. The lack of commitment of the regional forces of SAMIM and the low level of operationality of the FADM in situations of direct confrontation, aggravated by the lack of knowledge of the enemy's positions and of the terrain itself due to lack of information, led to the ineffectiveness of the siege operations (AM 1352). READ MORE
