Mozambique: ‘Free rein’ for Rwandans and Pemba on constant alert

 With the recorded attack about three weeks ago in the villages of 07 de Abril and Muripa, 15 km from the headquarters of the district of Balama, the armed cells almost fully hit all the province of Cabo Delgado, where until now only one of the 17 districts has not been directly attacked - Pemba, the provincial capital, which has been put on high alert several times due to attempts by insurgents to infiltrate among the displaced.

Pemba remains on high alert, especially since the terrorists began to descend towards the south, with the closest attack taking place in the district of Metuge, around 50 km away.

Armed cells have already attacked the districts of Ancuabe, Balama, Chiúre, Ibo, Macomia, Mecúfi, Meluco, Metuge, Mocímboa da Praia, Montepuez, Mueda, Muidumbe, Namuno, Nangade and Quissanga, and there are fears that they may be preparing an attack against the city of Pemba by sea.
