Mozambique/Equatorial Guinea: Flagship Airlines in Technical Bankruptcy

Like other counterparts on the continent, the state-owned airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM) is bankrupt and almost inoperable, maintaining itself only due to successive financial injections from the State Budget. The crisis in the sector during the Covid-19 pandemic made many companies unsustainable, given the accumulated losses.
