Mozambique: Protests Treated by Security Forces as Insurrection

The PRM has been mobilizing resources, anticipating an increase in popular dissatisfaction and spontaneous and unauthorized demonstrations, with the possibility of destruction of public goods and commercial establishments. As verified, the orders came directly from CG BERNARDINO RAFAEL and cover all PRM provincial commands.

Among the police measures are the mobilization of informants for the prior identification of intentions for protest actions, the reinforcement of security at banks or shopping centers and the increase of security at police stations and posts and at government bodies.
