Mozambique: Future Central Bank Governor Already in Negotiations with the IMF
The new governor's first challenge will be to oversee the likely conclusion of negotiations with the IMF for a new Extended Credit Facility (ECF) for a period of 3 years, coinciding with the end of the government's Five-Year Plan 2025-2029. According to sources linked to the negotiation process, the next meeting with the IMF is scheduled to take place in SEP, and should already include the future governor of the Bank of Mozambique.
