Mozambique: Procurement Accelerated by LNG Area 1 in Cabo Delgado

The Area 1 (Mozambique LNG) natural gas (LNG) consortium in Cabo Delgado, led by Total, will launch a series of tenders for the acquisition of goods and services through subcontractors Alistair, Van Oord, Technip, Marine Services and of the CCS joint venture, formed by Chiyoda, McDermot and Saipem.
CCS JV has as subcontractors IFS, SubTech, Renco, Dorce, WBHO and 2 Portuguese companies - Zagope and Gabriel Couto.
Area 1 signed the final investment decision in JUN.2019 for a total investment of USD 20 billion, of which 12.5% (USD 2.500 million) is expected to be used to contract companies created or established locally. It is also estimated that c. 40% of the employment is of local content during the initial phase of the project, increasing to 3/4 in the project development phase (c. 14 thousand).
